Ice and Cold Aayirathil Oruvan

Aayirathil Oruvan team has always been in news for the hardwork and extreme working conditions that the crew are working in in-order to finish the movie on time. From Adirampalli to Jaisalmer the team is working in extra ordinary weather conditions.

First it was Adirampalli Falls with the forest surrounding the picturesque falls. Due to the denseness of the forest the crew are not able to use their mobile phones. This prompted the shooting to be completed well before time. Now the entire 150 member crew of Aayirathil Oruvan are working under freezing conditions in Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

Jaisalmer is a new place to Kollywood but is a favourite shooting spot in Bollywood with beautiful desserts, forts, havelis and valleys. Some of the famous bollywood movies like Border, Paheli and LOC were shot at this spot. With the completion of this part in Jaisalmer by mid february, the shooting of the movie will be 3/4th complete. The rest of the shooting is planned in a studio in Hydrabad.

Directed by Selvaraghavan, the film Aayirathil Oruvan stars Paruthi Veeran fame Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea in the lead roles. Parthiban is doing a important role in this film. Director Azhagamperumal, who donned the guest role of a teacher in ‘Kattradhu Tamil’is acting in a pivotal role in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. Well known fashion designer Erum Ali of Chennai has given a new look to Reema Sen for this movie. Ramji is handling the camera for the first time for Selva, and Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing six songs for the movie.

Sultan The Warrior

Nayantara pairs with Vikram

Though Nayantara missed the bus at the last moment to be part of Vijay starrer Kuruvi, the actress will be happy now for she has been reportedly urged to play Vikram’s heroine in Raja Vesham.

Vikram will team up with director Boopathy Pandian for a film titled Raja Vesham. The latter is awaiting the release of Malaikottai starring Vishal and Priyamani, while the former will commence Kandasamy, to be directed by Susi Ganesan soon.

Nayantara, who is currently acting with Dhanush (Yaradi Nee Mohini), Ajiit (Billa) and Vishal (Sathyam), would play the heroine. Mohan Natarajan of Rajakaliamman Films, who is producing Suriya-starrer Vel, is making Raja Vesham.

Nayantara with Vijay

Finally Nayantara will be starring with Ilayathalapathi Vijay in the next movie produced by AVM studios. It had been a in-out game for Kuruvi where one day the news said she was acting in Kuruvi and the next day the news said she was not. Finally Kuruvi flew with Trisha and Vijay and the shooting of the movie is going on in full swing.

But now Nayan is going to be acting in the next movie with Vijay. After her stylish portrayal of Sasha in Billa, she has become the hot figure in Tamil film industry

Nayantara is right now acting in ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ with Dhanush and with Vishal in ‘Sathyam’. Both the movies are almost complete and ready for release.

Vijay and Nayan will act under the production of AVM Production and Entertainment. The director of the movie is yet to be finalized. This is the first time actor Vijay is doing a movie under the AVM banner. Vijay is currently doing Kuruvi which is produced by Udhayanidhi son of Minister M.K.Stalin and directed by Dharani. Vijay will next do a movie with Prabu Deva. He will then act under the AVM banner.

SRK to do Katha Parayumbol in HINDI

Katha Parayumbol, malayalam movie by Sreenivasan which recieved rave reviews is being associated with the superstars in all the language. While in Tamil and Telugu it will have Superstar Rajinikanth, in hindi it is said that SRK has accepted to don the role of the superstar.

Priyadarshan got the Hindi remake rights of Katha Parayumbol from Sreenivasan and Mukesh, the producers of Malayalam version. Shahrukh’s ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ will produce the film and the actor will play himself in the film, which will start rolling by July.

According to the source, SRK will come to this project after the completion of Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bane Di Jodi. SRK has suggested to Priyadarshan that he should not change the original Katha Parayumbol script and should be faithful to it.

Om Shanthi Om Song in Tamil

It will be almost similar to the star studded dance that happned in hindi movie Om Shanthi Om in which all the Bollywood biggies danced with Sharukh Khan. This time its going to happen with the Kollywood biggies.

Kamal's Dasavatharam on 10th April

The release date of the much awaited Dasavatharam movie of Kamal Hassan has been confirmed to April 10th, just before the Tamil new year day. The film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously with the current buzz being that the total prints would be around 1200.

Confirming this ‘Oscar’ Ravichandran the producer and distributor of the movie says that they are planning on banking on the holiday season during the April-May season. The audio of Dashavatharam with music by Himmesh Reshamiah will hit the stand by the end of February.

Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan plays 10 different roles in this film and for which he has dubbed in 10 different voices. Apart from this Kamal has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues himself. Asin has given her own voice to her character and that too in typical Brahmin Tamil which has come out brilliantly. Mallika Sherawat too dons a prominent character. The shoot for the film started in Chennai and continued in Malaysia, USA and in Pichavaram near Chidambaram.

Rajini and Kamal Together

Super star Rajinikanth and Ulaga Nayagan Kamal are set to create a frenzy of excitement even if they share the screen space even for a single shot. There were already rumors like wild fire that Rajini and Kamal will act in a movie together, but that never materialized.

Now the buzz is that director P.Vasu is trying to rope in Kamal Hassan to do a guest role for a scene in the movie Kuselan. It’s a known fact that Rajinikanth acts as a superstar in the movie and on the producers demand, there is going to be a scene where Superstar Rajinikanth will receive an award. Aish in Robo

Looks like the former miss world has finally signed on the dotted lines to act in Superstar Rajinikanth’s forthcoming movie Robot.

The buzz is that the Bollywood beauty has been paid a bomb of 1.5 crores for the movie and it is said to be the highest amount ever paid to an actress. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is said to have confirmed to the media in an interview to a popular channel that she is doing Shankar’s Robot.

Robot is already associated with big names like Superstar Rajinikanth, A.R Rahman, director Shankar, Cinematographer Nirav Shah, art director Sabu Cyril and now the addition of Aishwarya to the crew is just adding another feather to the already beautiful cap.

Will all these Robot has all the ingredients to create history in Indian Cinema.

Dissappointment of South Indian Heroines

It has been a dissappointing phase for all the top Tamil heroines. First it was Shankar and Rajinikanth who signed Bollywood actress Aishwarya for Robot then now Raju Sundaram and Ajith have signed Katrina Kaif for their upcomming movie. There are also talks now that Tabu will be roped in to pair opposite Pasupathi in Rajini’s Kuselan.

Initially Shirya was the one who was going to act opposite Ajith in Raju Sundaram’s next, but then differences araised due to date problems and her controversial dance with Vadivelu in Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan. Finally Ajith had to put his feet down and ask Raju to sign a different heroine. Shirya did try to patchup but Raju still went ahead and singed Katrina.

Same is the case for Robot. Lots of heroine names were suggested for the lead actress role in Robot. Deepika Padukone, Nayantara were initially said to be the heroines in Robot. Then Shriya appeared in Shivaji silver jubilee function in a skimpy dress apprently to impress Shankar to consider her for Robot. Finally Shankar went ahead and signed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Looks like its time Kollywood heroines watchout….and stick to commitments with the other Tamil actors.

Trisha pairs with Aarya

Actress Trisha has been signed to act opposite Arya in the next venture of director Vishnuvardhan titled Sarvam. There is another important hero with negative character in this film Sarvam for which director Vishnu has approched Malayalam actor Mohanlal.

Arya will be acting in Sarvam after his movie Naan Kadavul with Bala. The film will be produced by Ayngaran International.Sarvam has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and will be mostly shot in Munnar. The movie will start rolling in March. Cameraman Nirav Shah will handle cinematography.

With ths success of his stylish Billa, this movie also is expected to be equally good in the style quotient. Trisha was heard saying in a recent interview that she would like to do a glamour role in Tamil as the one that Nayantara did in Billa. With her being signed for Sarvam, looks like her wish is going to be fulfilled soon.

After this movie, Vishnuvardhan will be directing Ajith again under Shivaji productions.

Pyramid Saimira to raise $775 m

Pyramid Saimira Theatre announced here on Thursday that it proposed to raise $775 million by April-May this year through three of its subsidiaries and the parent company for acquisitions and expansion. “By June, we would have invested $1 billion,” said P. S. Saminathan, Managing Director of the group, at a press conference.

The company acquired a major stake in London-based Aurona Technologies Ltd, a video-gaming and interactive entertainment software company, along with its top management, while three other acquisitions were in the pipeline. Mr. Saminathan said the company was scouting for a place either in Chennai or Hyderabad or Bangalore for setting up a special economic zone (SEZ).

Targeting the younger customer-base, the company was planning to convert at least 1,000-1,500 sq. ft. of space in every theatre in its chain into console gaming space.

Mr. Saminathan said the company was planning to produce 60-70 movies with an investment of Rs. 800 crore this year out of which Rs. 200 crore would be spent on gaming and animation.

The group turnover was expected to be Rs. 800-900 crore by the end of the current fiscal.

Farhan Akhtar Turns Crooner

Farhan Akhtar has sung four songs for his for his forthcxoming film Rockstar starring him, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny. The songs have been composed by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and if those at the recordings are to be believed, Farhan’s one hell of a singer.

Bebo is Idiot

Kareena Kapoor, the sizzling hot babe of bollywood, has replaced Kajol from Raj Kumar Hirani’s upcoming flick ‘Idiots’ which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five Point Someone.

The ace director has already narrated the script to Bebo and she is very much excited about it and trying to figure out the dates for the film from her busy schedule.

Earlier, Raj Kumar Hirani had approached Kajol for Bebo’s role but the gutsy actress made fun of the ace director by messaging Shah Rukh about the credibility of Hirani’s direction. Though the message was private and not meant for the public but it got leaked through Ajay Devgan. Raj Kumar Hirani was furious about the whole thing and decided to replace Kajol from his film.

It was at that point that he decided to approach and finalize the gorgeous Bebo for the project. Kareena Kapoor grabbed this opportunity with both hands as she had seen Hirani’s Munnabhai films and was very impressed with his directorial acumen.

If everything goes well, Bebo will have the chance of working with Aamir Khan for the first time in this Hirani’s film. Earlier, she had signed Mani Rathnam’s film ‘Lajjo’ with Aamir Khan but things did not work out between the producer and the director, which led to stalemate and ultimately the film got shelved.

In any case, Bebo has had a very good year till now. She has already bagged Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kambakht Ishq’ and another big budget film with TV 18. The shooting for Yash Raj Film’s ‘Tashan’ has already been completed and expected to be a big box office release success this year. Kareena is paired opposite her new beau Saif in this movie and their working chemistry is expected to be terrific.

However this Hirani’s film, which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel, deals with the life in the campuses of prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology as lived by the students. It tries to depict the various aspects like ecstasy, frustration, helplessness of a group of friends in the elite institution. Besides, Kareena and Aamir, Hirani is also reported to have approached Shah Rukh, Saif and John Abraham for different roles in the film.

Nervous Director of JODHA AKBAR

Ashutosh Gowariker presented the promos of “jodha Akbar” and even as the nervous director looked on, it was clear that the film is a wineer. The attention given to detailing is commendable. If God lies in the details, the place right nex to him can be taken by Hrithik. The Roshan comes shining through in a period film where predecessors like SRK have failed. Remember ‘Asoka’ which was best forgotten.

Kareena Secretly Married

Kareena Kapoor, the sizzling hot sexy siren of bollywood, secretly married chote nawab of bollywood Saif Ali Khan at his new Bandra house, LaView Patni, in the presence of a maulvi on Wednesday.

The celebrated couple of bollywood solemnized the marriage by exchanging rings in a quite ceremony without inviting many people from their friend circle or family. The ceremony was kept a well guarded secret and took place around 12.30pm at Saif Ali Khan’s new pad which is yet to be decorated and occupied.

Sources close to the couple say that Saif Ali Khan gifted a BMW car on the occasion to his ladylove Kareena, but they are not likely to shift to their new house LaView Patni any time soon, as the interior is still being done. Saif Ali has bought the top two floors of the building and Kareena Kapoor frequently visits the place to supervise the interior work being done there under the charge of a confidante of Saif Ali Khan. Once the work is complete the couple is likely to move here.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were very eager for marriage after the courtship of around four months, but had been waiting only because the seniors of Kapoor family were not willing to take the plunge so soon. In fact, Bebo’s parents wanted her to concentrate on bollywood career at a time when plum offers were coming her way, rather than going for marriage with Saif.

Perhaps that was the reason Bebo and Saif Ali Khan chose to go in for secret nikah in the presence of a maulvi rather than for a grand wedding in the presence of family and friends. In any case, this is not for the first time that Saif Ali has gone for a secret marriage with his sweetheart. His first marriage with Amrita Singh was also held secretly and it was only after sometime that the people could come to know of that.

But Amrita Singh was senior to Saif Ali Khan at the time of marriage, while Kareena Kapoor, twenty seven, is ten years younger to the actor at the time of taking the marital vows. Saif Ali Khan has two lovely children from her first marriage and Kareena has been trying to be friends with them so that there would not be any problem in this regard in future.

Dasavatharam up for a grand music launch

The mother of all biggies is getting spectacular as expected. The movie is almost complete, except a single song. The film comprises six songs tuned by the Bollywood music sensation Himesh Reshmiya and Shruthi Haasan, daughter of Kamal haasan has also rendered her voice for one of the songs.

If everything goes on as planned, and the shooting wrapped up soon, then Dasavatharam may have a grand audio launch come October. The producer expects to launch the music on a grand scale.

The post-production of the film will start in full swing after completing the last song. Kamal has already started the dubbing process and is making his characters livelier. The graphics part is also being done on a rapid pace.

Thala Ajith Back in Business with Main Hoon Nah Remake in Tamil

The upcomming flick of Thala Ajith which he is doing with Raju Sundaram is supposed to be the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster movie, Main Hoon Na. Ajith Kumar has just returned to Chennai after the first schedule of shooting for Raju Sundaram’s next movie from Hong Kong.

The buzz is that this yet to be titled movie will have the name of Ajith character in the movie as the title of the movie. Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif who is also the girl friend of Salman Khan will star opposite to Ajith in this movie.

Main Hoon Na, written and directed by Farah Khan has the story line which tells the tale of Major Ram Prasad Sharma and his efforts to foil the terrorist Raghavan . Major Sharma is simultaneously attempting to mend relations with his father’s estranged first wife and his half-brother Lakshman. He goes to the college where his half-brother is studying and falls in love with the lecturer.

Initially Shriya was supposed to do the role, but later could not due to date problems and also because Ajith was not comfortable with having her in the movie. Then Bollywood bomb Bipasha basu was supposed to have signed the movie. The latest buzz is that Katrina Kaif has agreed to do the movie.

Ajith will be starting the second schedule of the movie in Chennai soon. Lets hope the director zero’s in on the heroine before the second schedule.

After Billa, this movie will also be a treat to all Ajith Fans.

The top heroine of Telugu cinema was all excited to be a part of this film but after the dates went haywire and shooting got postponed she decided to walk out of the project. Remember that Vaaranam Aayiram was touted to be one the hottest projects in Tamil but now Surya is busy completing his Hari directed Vel and Gautham is shooting his quickie with Trisha in the lead! The latest news is that Vaaranam Aayiram will resume its next schedule in US by end of September. Gautham and his unit will be flying off to California on 29th and shoot for over a month at the University of California, Berkeley Campus and a Danish village in the outskirts of the town. Meanwhile Gautham has also started a big hunt for a heroine to accompany the team to US, as of now only Kuthu Ramya is confirmed. There are supposed to be three heroines in the film and the buzz is that Genelia decided to walk out after Gautham refused to pay the fat salary that she is demanding and getting in Telugu.

Bhavana pairs with Vinay

Vinay, who made his debut with Unnale Unnale, is currently acting in a Telugu movie. Meanwhile, the actor is all set to return to Tamil with a movie to be produced by Sathyajothy Thyagarajan. Buzz is that the movie would bring together Bhavana and Vinay on the screen for the first time. The movie would be directed by Mani Rathnam’s associate Kannan. Sathyajothy Films had last produced Em Magan.

Salman Khan was sitting across the room, but as soon as Katrina Kaif left the party around three in the morning, Bebo left Saif alone and went over to Salman Khan to greet him like an old friend. Saif Ali Khan, obviously, did not like such behavior on the part of sexy Bebo, about whom he is very possessive. Saif Ali Khan just could not digest this type of camaraderie from his beau and stopped talking to her. But Kareena continued to ignore him at the party and came back only after some time. Now, this was Saif Ali Khan’s time and he ignored her completely at the party.

It may be recalled that Saif Ali Khan had recently cut his palm with a knife to prove his love for Kareena Kapoor on the insistence of common friends in Greece where the couple was shooting for the upcoming Yash Raj Films’ ‘ Tashan’. Abhishek Bachchan, the handsome hunk of bollywood who has a very close friendship with Sikander Kher, did not invite him for the birthday party which he celebrated in Jaipur along with other friends like Kunal Kapoor, Apoorva Lakhia, Goldie Behl etc.

Abhishek Bachchan is said to be mighty upset with the Kher boy and is trying to edge out him from the inner circle of the Bachchan clan. For the present, Abhi is keeping the unsettling thing to himself and has not told any of his friends about the real reason of the ongoing cold war.

Currently, Abhishek Bachchan is busy with the shooting of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film ‘ Dilli 6’ in Jaipur and hence had sent messages to all his friends to come to the pink city for the party. The party was held in a farm house provided by UTV, the producer of the film, to Abhishek for the entire Jaipur spell. Even wife Aishwarya Rai, mother Jaya Bachchan and father Amitabh Bachchan attended the party in Jaipur. Amitabh had directly come from Shimla where he has been shooting for a Bengali film, while Jaya and Aishwarya came from Mumbai.

But Sikander Kher was not present as Abhi did not invite him for the party. However, sources say that this is not for the first time that Sikander Kher had been ignored by Bachchan. Earlier too, Abhi had sent messages to other friends for a party but did not send it to Siku and when Sikander called Abhi to inquire about this, he coldly informed him that he had not sent the SMS and that’s why he did not get it.

On the other hand Sikander Kher is looking at the whole episode from a different angle and feels that if some friends had gathered at Abhishek’s pad in Jaipur on the occasion, that’s none of his business as he was too busy with his work and would not have gone to Jaipur to attend the party. The source of the trouble is said to be ego clash between the two erstwhile close buddies. Perhaps, Abhi wants more respect shown to him after being successful in bollywood, while Sikander continues to treat him like his old childhood friend.

It may be recalled that during the marriage ceremony of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, Sikander Kher was one of the close buddies taking care of guests and other formalities. He was very closely involved in the affairs of Abhishek Bachchan from the very beginning and was almost like a brother. Even Sikander’s mother Kirron Kher has been very close to Jaya Bachchan and other members of the Bachchan household and was closely involved with wedding ceremony. But now something seems to have gone terribly wrong between Abhishek and Sikander.

Jab We Met - Movie Review

Think DDLJ 2.0! Jab we met gains immensely from Shahid and Kareena’s endearing and honest performances. There are the usual leaps of imagination - the shortcuts that work brilliantly for Shahid to turn his life around, but even those gel well within an earnest screenplay conjured superbly by the director. Pritam’s music and the choreography add phenomenal spunk to the proceedings while Kareena’s family - despite their limited screen time, are far more enjoyable than the average Chopra-styled extended khandan, particularly Dara Singh! Post his excellent debut, Imtiaz Ali learns his commercial lessons and gets the formula right, big time!

Ungrateful Deepika

Farah Khan, the ace director of Shah Rukh Khan- Deepika Padukone starrer Om Shanti Om and mentor of the actress, is miffed with the sexy starlet for not keeping in touch with her after the release of the film.

Farah is peeved at the ungrateful attitude of the newcomer and attributes it to the fact that Deepika considers her ‘useless’ for the time being as the impending motherhood would not allow her to direct any new film for a year or so.

Sources say that the sizzling hot and sexy actress has not bothered to get in touch with the gutsy director for months now after the release of her film. Even on Farah Khan’s birthday, when everybody from her directed films went to her home to wish her birthday, Deepika Padukone was conspicuous by her absence. Later, she sent a formal SMS wishing her happy birthday on January 9 and since then there has been no contact between the two ladies.

However, Farah Khan does not want to give importance to the issue saying that if it had been Shah Rukh Khan ignoring her or not keeping in touch with her she would have taken very seriously. Deepika did not matter much to her and so despite the feeling of hurt, does not nurse any grudges. Farah understands that this is the way of the world. People tend to ignore their mentors once they have tasted success and no longer need them. They move on to greener pastures.

Same is happening with Deepika Padukone too. She has been shooting in Australia for a Yash Raj film and no longer needs the help of Farah Khan. The latest sexy siren of bollywood has already bagged projects with prestigious banners like Yash Raj and is in talks with several others. So obviously, she has moved on in life and do not want to look back.

But except the dusky beauty Deepika, all other cast members like Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade from ‘Om Shanti Om’ keep in touch with Farah and she is very proud of this. Even the actors Sunil Shetty, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao from earlier directed film ‘Main Hoon Naa’ keep in touch and come regularly to meet her.

It may be recalled that Deepika Padukone got a dream break in Farah Khan directed ‘Om Shanti Om’ and went on to become a star overnight. Her character of Shantipriya was very much appreciated by the audiences as well as industry watchers and she reaped the benefit by signing prestigious projects after the film became a super duper hit at the box office. Deepika has also been linked with dashing cricketer Yuvraj Singh and even celebrated her birthday with him in Australia where she had gone to his matches.

Sonam and Hrithik together in Next Venture

Sonam Kapoor, the gorgeous beauty who made her debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, is set to star opposite Hrithik Roshan in Filmkraft’s next production to be directed by none other than Rakesh Roshan, who had directed the blockbuster Krrish.

Rakesh Roshan made this offer to Sonam’s father Anil Kapoor while visiting his home and sought his permission to cast her opposite Hrithik in his next directorial venture(yet untitled).

Sonam was thrilled with this dream offer and immediately agreed to be part of the film, as a film opposite the only Indian superhero Hrithik Roshan would upgrade her status to grade one heroine. She has already been doing a film ‘ Dilli 6’ with Abhishek Bachchan under the direction of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and this new film with Hrithik Roshan goes to prove that the lady has really impressed the bigwigs of bollywood with her performance in ‘ Saawariya’.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Rakesh Roshan was very impressed with Sonam Kapoor’s performance in Sanjay Bhansali’s Saawariya and wanted her to be part of a film with his company. Another reason is said to be that Rakesh Roshan wanted the pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor to become popular before Abhishek- Sonam starrer ‘ Dilli 6’ starts its publicity campaign.

Earlier, there was talk of Sonam Kapoor pairing with Hrithik Roshan for a film to be produced by Eros International- Carving Dreams Motion Pictures, but things are still not very clear. And now it seems that before Eros’ project gets underway, Filmkraft will have its way and will showcase the two hottest stars together in its upcoming project.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan’s parents and other members of his family are planning a havan and puja today on his thirty fourth birthday. As the handsome hunk has still not fully recovered from his knee injury, he is expected to celebrate a quite birthday at a suburban restaurant with his wife and baby. No big birthday bash has been planned this year for the Indian superhero.

Shakira in Pokiri

International pop singer Shakira is going to dance in the remake of ‘Pokiri’ movie. Vijay,Asin starrer ‘Pokkiri’ is going to remade in Hindi. The lead roles in this movie are going to be portrayed by Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia. Prabu Deva is going to direct this movie. Boney kapoor has approched pop singer Shakira to dance in one of the songs in this movie. Shakira has been approched to dance in this movie but she has not replied. Her manager has expressed that she’ll agree to this dance. Boney kapoor has mentioned that it will be a proud moment if Shakira agrees.

Tanushree in adventure movie

Tanushree datta is acting as a action heroine in an adventure film for children. The film features six kids, wild animals and professional fighters. Of late Tanushree has been hitting the gym and training in Kathak to tone up her body for ‘Ramma - The Savior’ the adventure movie for kids. When asked why she chose to do a movie for children she says:

I am bored of the glamourous roles. Its boring to sing a song around the trees with the hero. I want to act in different roles. I have acted in a negative role in ‘Raqeeb’. Even the movie was not sucessful, I got good reviews for the movie. Now I am acting in a children’s movie. I have taken special training and learnt martial arts for the actions scenes in this movie.

Akky in BLUE

Akshay Kumar, the handsome hunk with one of the fittest bodies in bollywood, has agreed to work with Priyanka Chopra in upcoming project of Shree Ashtavinayak’s ‘Blue’.

The film will be an action oriented romantic love story to be mounted on a grand scale. This is for the first time after Vipul Shah’s ‘Waqt: The Race Against Time’ in the year 2005 that Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra will be working together in a film.

Earlier, Twinkle Khanna, Akshay Kumar’s wife had prohibited the actor from working with the sexy actress, as she feared that their relationship was getting too cosy for comfort. Though Priyanka Chopra had no objection to working with Akshay Kumar, but Akki was not prepared to create disharmony in his household for the sake of his colleague.

Akshay Kumar- Priyanka Chopra combination have given several hit films at the box office like ‘Andaaz’ in 2003, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge’ in 2004, Aitaraaz in 2004, ‘Waqt’ in 2005 and due to this reason several producers wanted to repeat the jodi in their movies. But Akki was adamant on not working with the sexy siren and hence no project could take off. Even, Sajid Nadiadwala had approached Akshay with a project to work with Priyanka but things did not work out at the time and nothing came out of it.

But now for this Ashtavinayak film, Akshay Kumar is himself taking keen interest to include Priyanka Chopra in the cast as he thinks only she can perform the required action sequences for the film. Priyanka has an agile and athletic physique and has no qualms about performing the stunts. Even in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Don’ she had performed action sequences with quite ease.

The latest Ashtavinayak film will also have Sanjay Dutt playing an important role in it and the sexy bombshell Lara Dutta will essay his love interest in the ambitious flick.

Cruzing Hrithik

Hrithik Roshan, the handsome hunk of bollywood, is all set to act opposite Hollywood’s gorgeous beauty Penelope Cruz in an upcoming Filmkraft production to be directed by ace director Anurag Basu.

Rakesh Roshan, the producer of the film and Anurag Basu, the director, have already reached Los Angeles to finalize the deal with Penelope Cruz to star in the film.

The script of the film required a sizzling hot beauty from outside the country to play the character of a foreigner in it and Rakesh Roshan zeroed in on Penelope Cruz after consulting his actor son Hrithik Roshan. Even, director Anurag Basu, who had earlier directed such acclaimed films like ‘Gangster’ and ‘Metro’, felt that only Penelope could play the role convincingly in the film and so it was decided to approach the actress.

After Filmkraft office in Mumbai got in touch with Cruz’s office in Los Angeles and an appointment was fixed that they proceeded to sign the actress for the coveted project. Now, the director is planning to start the shooting for the film by the middle of this year. The film belongs to romantic action genre and is expected to be on the lines of ‘Dhoom 2’.

Penelope Cruz is an acclaimed actress of Hollywood and had won the best actress ensemble award at Cannes Film Festival for her acting in Pedro Almodovar’s film ‘Volver.’ She was also nominated for Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Bafta Award. She has been acting in several languages films like Spanish, French, English, Italian and Portuguese and has been appreciated for her acting skills.

On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan too has become an internationally acclaimed performer after he showed mastery of gadgetry and other hi fi things in Yash Raj’s ‘Dhoom 2’ and Rakesh Roshan’s‘ Krrish’. He is now the only bollywood actor who has played the character of superhero in his films with such aplomb and conviction.

The handsome hunk of bollywood has played the character of Mughal Emperor Akbar in the recently released Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘ Jodhaa Akbar’ and his display of histrionics is being widely appreciated by the audience as well as the critics. He is perfectly successful in getting into the skin of the character of the emperor but unfortunately the film as a whole is not as wholesome as ‘Dhoom 2’ or ‘ Krrish’ were earlier.

Hmm….hmm…..whatever may be the fate of other movies but there is no doubt that Hrithik’s Greek god looks combined with the stunningly gorgeous Penelope Cruz can create wonder at the box office in the upcoming Rakesh Roshan’s flick, no??

Johnny Gaddar - movie review

With a truckload of interesting references, Johnny Gaddaar proves that audiences need not be treated as dumb asses looking for juvenile fun and that they do not mind getting sucked into the vortex of an intelligently crafted thriller, provided the screenplay is appropriately coherent. Dharmendra’s Sheshadri is mature and nuanced with some ace dialogues while Vinay Pathak and Zakir Hussain make for a zingy cat and mouse combo. Debutant Neil Nitin Mukesh is the only sore point, with two expressions - one completely blank, and the other, a half smirk which perhaps refers to his amusement that he has been chosen for this project. Ashwini Kalsekar as Vinay’s wife is fantastic even in that limited role. The other highlight is the way music is blended without being an irritant and the fact that every scene is constructed in such a way that there’s a second layer to it that makes us go, ‘Hey, this director is smart’, a lot of times. The ending is both punchy and convincing, bringing together all the threads with a complete bang – literally. Johnny Gaddaar is one of the best films to have hit Bollywood in a long time! Don’t miss it, and spread the word!

Aamir Snubs Kangana

Aamir Khan, the perfectionist actor-turned-director who had a resounding success with his Taare Zameen Par, snubbed the gorgeous starlet Kangana Ranaut at a function recently.

Kangana Ranaut, who rushed to greet the actor after spotting him at the venue, got only a dismissive response from him. The lady became furious at this attitude of the perfectionist Khan and returned to her friends murmuring ‘what the hell Aamir thinks of himself.’

The sources present on the occasion say that Kangana Ranaut was very excited and rattled off the names of several of Aamir Khan’s films, which she had seen and immensely liked, but his response was limited to single words like ‘okay’. Not only this, Aamir Khan even ignored her and continued with the conversation that he was having with some other guests at the time.

The buzz doing the rounds is that Aamir Khan’s strange behaviour with Kangana Ranaut was the result of Kangana’s overenthusiastic attitude during the time of casting for ‘ Ghajini’ remake. At the time of selecting the female lead for the remake, Aamir Khan was seriously considering Kangana for the lead role and talks were in final stages. But Kangana Ranaut could not keep this secret till the time of finalization of the cast by Aamir and hence was ousted from the project.

As everybody knows in the Industry that Aamir Khan never wanted anybody to know about real casting for the movie till he finalized and announced it on his own end. Kangana, being new to the way of bollywood and Aamir Khan’s style of working, could not maintain this secrecy and the information leaked in the media. Aamir was terribly upset about this and perhaps the strange behaviour at the function was his way of getting even with the ‘ Gangster’ star.

But another school views the cold behaviour of Aamir Khan as a proof of his vindictive nature and arrogance in the industry. Recently, Aamir was also in controversy with Big B over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘ Black.’ Aamir Khan’s unwarranted comments had hurt the sentiments of Amitabh Bachchan and the two fought the war in media about their films ‘ Black’ and ‘ Lagaan’.

Perhaps Aamir’s arrogance has further increased with the great success and critical acclaim that he received from the success of ‘ Taare Zameen Par’ at the box office.

Parthiban in Selvaraghavan

Parthiban is an intelligent man and has learnt that realism goes down well with the audience. He is almost 50 now and is aware that romancing and making prankish dialogues on screen cannot last for ever.

As a result, he is being approached with good character roles like his writer role in ‘Ammuvaagiya Naan.’ One such offer is ‘Aayirathil Oruvan.’

Directed by Selvaraghavan, the film stars Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea.At a time when several films featuring the biggies are in the pipeline, Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan seems to be the most expected of the lot. Well, it has all the reason to be.
For one thing, fans and critics are eager to see Karthi’s performance in this flick after his spellbinding performance in Paruthiveeran.Selvaraghavan invited Parthiban to do an important character role in the film. Instead of insisting that he play the solo hero, Parthiban who likes to be different, accepted the role immediately.

Next year, he plans to do a film with his daughter Keertana. It is about a father-daughter relationship and could well be their real life story. Keertana is to write the film’s scenes.

It is noteworthy that she has already made a short film.

Added to this is Selvaraghavan’s reputation as a master storyteller who can spin tales poignantly to touch the hearts of the audience. Music, among other things, is what the director concentrates, for all his films have had songs that were chartbusters. And his earlier ventures with Yuvan Shankar Raja bear testimony to this fact.

Adding one more to the feathers in his cap, in Aayirathil Oruvan, will be a guest performance by Parthiban, no surprise that an actor of his stature has agreed for a cameo as he has done it before in Anthapuram. But then, Parthiban is always experimenting and is open to new ideas and roles and we expect his role in Aayirathil Oruvan to be as different as it was in Anthapuram.

And that is not all! Even Dhanush, the younger brother of the director will appear in a guest role. With Aayirathil Oruvan having an array of actors like Reema Sen, Andrea and Karthi it is quite natural that the film is drawing a lot of attention.

Salman and Shahruk together

Shah Rukh Khan, the badshah of bollywood, is all set to feature with the macho man of the industry Salman Khan in a remake of Hollywood’s Tom Cruise starrer ‘Jerry Maguire’ made in 1996. Salman and Shah Rukh Khan finalized the plans about making the remake at the birthday bash of actress Amrita Arora, which was held on January 31. The two superstars were present throughout the night and held a detailed discussion about the project.

Sources say that the project is likely to be made by Salman Khan’s younger brother, Sohail Khan. He has already prepared a bound script of the hit Hollywood flick and had a meeting with a major studio in this regard. Sohail’s plan is to cast Salman Khan in the role of Cuba Gooding Junior while Shah Rukh Khan will essay the part of the ambitious agent. Cuba Gooding Junior’s role was awarded with the best actor trophy at Hollywood Academy Awards in the supporting actor category.

However, before deciding on the future of the remake of Sohail Khan’s ‘Jerry Maguire’, UTV wants to know about the confirmation of dates from Shah Rukh Khan, because the movie is a big budget and they do not want to start anything prematurely. If this project gets underway, this will be after a long time that Salman and Shah Rukh will work together in a bollywood flick. Earlier, they were together in a film ‘ Karan Arjun’ made by Rakesh Roshan and the film was a super duper hit at the box office.

After that relation between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan became bitter to the extent that they stopped talking to each other. This was due to undue interference by Salman on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘ Chalte Chalte’ where Aishwarya Rai was playing the female lead. In those days, Aishwarya and Salman were dating each other and Salman would often go to the shooting sites of the gorgeous lady to meet her. Shah Rukh, obviously, did not like this and the two Khans had a showdown.

The peace returned in the relationship of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan when the duo met on the occasion of director Farah Khan’s Sangeet ceremony in December 2004. Both the actors had good relation with the ace director and did not want to create a scene there. Salman hugged Shah Rukh Khan on the occasion and the decided to forget the past and forgive each other. Since then, the two have maintained a good relationship and Salman Khan had even attended the special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati on a television channel which was being anchored by King Khan.

Veer Movie will sport Hulky Salman

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood, has been told by the producer Vijay Galani to increase his weight by one and half times to fit in the role of a warrior, which he is going to play in the upcoming flick ‘Veer’.

Sallubhai has already started work on this and presently taking special diet under the supervision of his personal trainer to increase his chest and weight. In the last four weeks, Sallubhai has increased his chest about four inches and still working hard to increase it further.

But it is not for free that Salman Khan is making this huge effort. He is charging a whopping Rs 25 crore to act in the film and will also get the credit of story writer. Though the film is being produced by Vijay Galani and directed by Anil Sharma, it was Salman who wrote the story of the film and is now sweating out to fit in the character of a warrior.

But script of the film is being written by someone else and not Salman Khan. The producer is also making certain changes in the storyline to suit the modern conditions and times, as Salman wrote this story over a period of time and not at one go.

Originally, Salman Khan wanted girlfriend Katrina Kaif to act in the film but as the gorgeous lady had signed several big movies recently, she declined the offer. Now, producer Vijay Galani and director Anil Sharma are pinning their hopes on athletic and sexy Priyanka Chopra to play the character of main female protagonist in the film.

Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra have worked together in several hits like ‘Mujhse Shadi Kaogi’ and Salaam-e-Ishq and are fairly comfortable with each other. Their working chemistry in ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ was terrific and movie did a roaring business at the box office.

However, their relations had turned sour when Sallubhai insisted with the producer of ‘London Dreams’ that Priyanka Chopra should be shown the door and his girlfriend Katrina Kaif should feature opposite him in the film. But Rajkumar Santoshi, who was supposed to direct the film at that time, had refused to follow Sallu’s dictates and preferred to shelve the film itself.

But according to grapevine Sallubhai and Priyanka Chopra have decided to forget and forgive the past and work in this film together. However, the real picture would emerge only after the produce makes a formal announcement about the cast of the film.

Hmm…..hmm…..seems Sallubhai is taking his role in ‘Veer’ seriously and doing every thing possible for it, but his sizzling hot girlfriend Katrina does not seem to be taking him seriously, no??

SRIK in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of bollywood, is all set to play the lead in Aditya Chopra’s next venture ‘ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ opposite a new cute traditional Indian beauty, for which Yash Raj Films will launch a nationwide talent hunt.

The new flick from the Yash Raj stable will also mark the return of Shah Rukh- Aditya jodi after ‘Mohabbatein’ which was almost eight years earlier. The shooting for the film is likely to start in May with expected date of release at the end of the year.

As this flick will see the return of Aditya Chopra after almost eight years, everything is being planned minutely. The perfectionist director has instructed his production team to scout for a girl in the age group of twenty to twenty four, who is not only beautiful and exudes the cultural charm of India, but also has an athletic body.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Aditya Chopra wanted to sign Shah Rukh Khan for a film much earlier after ‘Chak De! India’ proved a super duper hit at the box office, but King Khan was too busy with his ‘Om Shanti Om’ to say yes to Adi’s project. Even, after his home production ‘Om Shanti Om’ became a hit with the audiences, Shah Rukh had not signed the ‘Rab….’ as his dates were booked for Karan Johar’s upcoming ‘ My Name is Khan’.

But somehow Karan Johar’s film got postponed to September this year and Shah Rukh’s dates became free up to that time, hence he signed this new Yash Raj’s flick to be shot from May onwards and released at the end of this year.

This new Aditya Chopra’s film like his earlier films ‘ Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and ‘ Mohabbatein’ will have mushy romance of the lead couple in typical Yash Chopra style. ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, the title of the film, has been borrowed from a song of Manmohan Desai’s super duper hit film ‘Suhag’ starring Big B, Shashi Kapoor, Rekha and Parveen Babi.

The grapevine has it that in order to make a super duper hit film, Aditya Chopra is also in talks with Hrithik Roshan to act in a supporting role in it along with Shah Rukh Khan and a fresh beauty. If everything goes according to plan, the audiences can expect another super casting and a super hit masala film from the King of mushy romance, the Chopra.

Neil's Tantrums

Neil Nitin Mukesh, the dashing actor who made his successful debut with Johnny Gaddaar, has walked out of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming film ‘Good Night’ just one week before the shooting was to start in full swing.

Neil Nitin Mukesh wants the director to postpone the film towards the end of this year or to early next year, as he needed at least three months time to get into the skin of the character of the said film

Earlier, Neil Nitin Mukesh had signed the film only after having listened the script from the producer Vinay Kumar Sinha and the director Tigmanshu Dhulia. In fact, initially the actor was very excited about the character and wanted to start shooting as soon possible for the film. It was only after that the date had been fixed as February and he accepted the signing amount.

But later, Neil changed his mind and when director Dhulia called him to talk about the impending outdoor shooting spell of Rajasthan, he simply put forth new conditions for working in the film. Neil has been trying to impress the director that he is a perfectionist like Aamir Khan and want to act in a film only after preparing for it in the best possible manner.

But director Tigmanshu Dhulia and producer Vinay Sinha are in a fix as they wanted to make this movie as quickly as possible and can not wait for the actor to complete his homework for months. Now, they are planning to change the lead actor and rope in someone else in his place to complete the film in time.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Neil Nitin Mukesh’s unprofessional behaviour towards Tigmanshu Dhulia is the result of his signing a big banner film like Yash Raj’s next, which is being directed by Kabir Khan of ‘Kabul Express’ fame. In order to make time for this film, Neil has been trying to sideline his earlier commitments towards the producers.
